GLIDE & GO SKATE CITY

Guest Waiver & Agreement — Plain Language Summary
Roller Allie Co. DBA Glide & Go Skate City | 1676 Sycamore St., Iowa City, Iowa 52240

This is a plain language summary of our full Waiver of Liability. The complete legal version is available at the front desk and at https://glideandgoskatecity.com/.  Click here to download a copy of the Guest Waiver & Agreement.
By signing below, you agree to both this summary and the full Agreement.

Welcome to Glide & Go! Before you lace up, please read through this summary.
It explains what you're agreeing to when you sign.
We want you to actually understand it — not just sign it.

1. Skating involves real risk of injury — and you accept that.
Roller skating, bounce houses, go-karts, and our other activities are fun — but they can also result in injury. We're talking anything from a scrape or bruise all the way to broken bones, concussions, or, in rare cases, permanent disability or death. These are real risks that come with the territory.

By signing this form, you're saying: you understand the risks, you're choosing to participate anyway, and you're taking personal responsibility for your own safety.

2. If you get hurt, you cannot sue us — even if it was our fault.
This is the big one. You are giving up your right to take legal action against Glide & Go Skate City, its owners, staff, and anyone associated with us — even if an injury happens because of something we did or didn't do.

Any dispute must go through binding arbitration (a private legal process), not a courtroom. You're also giving up the right to be part of a class action lawsuit.

3. Our floors are concrete. Imperfections are normal and not our fault.
Our skating surface is concrete. Like any concrete floor, it may have minor cracks, patches, or small imperfections. That's just the nature of the surface — it doesn't mean something is broken or that we've been negligent.

Also, if you go into the restroom while wearing skates and slip on a wet floor, that's on you. Skating in restrooms is prohibited. Restroom floors are slippery. We've told you. If you do it anyway and fall, we are not responsible.

4. You're on camera.
The entire facility is monitored by video surveillance for everyone's safety. By walking in, you consent to being recorded. That footage can be used in any legal matter, insurance claim, or incident report that comes up.

5. Follow the rules and listen to our staff.
We have rules posted throughout the facility. Our staff is empowered to enforce them. Here's the short version:

  • Do what the staff tells you, right away.

  • No roughhousing, pushing, or unsafe behavior.

  • Skate in the correct direction.

  • No carrying kids while on skates.

  • No outside food or drinks (medical needs excepted — just let us know).

  • Stay out of restricted areas.

Breaking the rules can get you removed from the facility with no refund.

6. We can ask you to leave.
We reserve the right to remove anyone from the premises at any time — for rule violations, unsafe behavior, intoxication, or any other reason our management deems appropriate. No refund will be issued, and you can't sue us for it.

7. Your waiver is valid for 365 days.
Once you sign, this waiver covers all your visits for the next 365 days. You don't need to sign again every time you come in — as long as this version is still current.

If we update the waiver during that time, your continued visits mean you accept the updated version — unless we
make major structural changes, in which case we'll let you know and ask you to sign again.

8. Memberships auto-renew. Cancel with 7 days' notice.
If you sign up for a membership, it will automatically renew each billing cycle at the current rate. We'll charge the card you have on file.

To cancel, you must give us written notice at least 7 days before your next renewal date. If you miss that window,
you'll be charged for one more cycle. No partial refunds.

9. For non-injury claims, there's a $2,000 cap on what you can recover from us.
If a claim involves property damage or financial loss (not bodily injury), the most we can be held liable for is
$2,000. Injury-related claims are handled separately under the release and assumption of risk you agreed to
above — meaning those are covered by the waiver, not a dollar cap.

10. If you're signing for a child, read this carefully.
If your child is participating in any of our activities — skating, camps, specialty sessions, parties, anything — you must complete the child section at the bottom of this form.

  • One form per child. If you have multiple kids, get a separate form for each one.

  • You cannot drop your child off and leave unless it's a designated supervised drop-off program and your

  • child has been formally checked in with staff.

  • If your child damages property or causes a mess that requires specialty cleaning, you agree to cover up to $200 per incident.
